A Unique Charity Fundraising Event
Official Charities Supported
One of the main thrusts of the Race the Base 2012 event is to provide support to the 4 Wing Morale and Welfare Fund and to raise funds for charity. The Fund enables Personnel and Family Support Services to deliver programs, services and activities in support of active and retired members of the Canadian Forces, employees of the Department of National Defence, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and their families. Physical fitness, recreation and health programs are among the few of the programs supported through this fund.
One thousand (1000) dollars from your entrance fee, all the funds collected for the Dream Ride Auction, one hundred and fifty (150) dollars from all guest VIP passes and all funds collected for general admission will be donated to these charities. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for the 1000 dollar portion of your entrance fee as well as the 150 dollar portion of your guest VIP passes. Tax receipts will be sent to you via mail sometime after the event.
Canadian Forces Soldier On Fund - Visit Website
The mission of the Canadian Forces Soldier On Fund (CFSOF) is to provide resources and opportunities for serving and retired Canadian Forces personnel with a permanent or chronic illness or injury to actively participate in physical, recreational or sporting activities. The primary objectives of the Fund are to: facilitate, support and integrate resources and opportunities for ill and injured military personnel to fully and actively participate in physical, recreational or sporting activities; create awareness of Soldier On among ill and injured military personnel, other CF personnel, the general public and corporations; and investigate, foster and enhance partnerships with Canadian organizations and allied nations offering relevant programs and services.
Tritown Emergency Food Bank (Cold Lake)
More than 110 Alberta communities currently have food banks. Each month, these organizations provide food to more than 60,000 Albertans. The most common service they offer is providing hampers to disadvantaged individuals and families. Many food banks distribute food to other non-profit groups in their areas. Food banks also work together to lobby government and advocate for change.
Hearts for Healthcare (Cold Lake) - Visit Website
Healthcare is cited as one of the top concerns of Cold Lake residents. Many residents do not have a family doctor, and use the hospital emergency room for medical care. Although the focus of Hearts for Healthcare has been on doctor recruitment and community awareness, the organization also raises funds to replace outdated medical equipment thereby improving patient care.
